Intimate relationships have a profound impact on our well-being. When we fee loved and safe in our intimate relationship, we can be who we are at our best and feel deeply satisfied and happy. When things are not going well, however, the distress can affect all other aspects of our life, and it can become hard to function effectively in the world.

As a couple's therapist, I see myself as a facilitator for repair, reconnection, resolution, and restoration of healthy patterns of interaction. The goal of therapy is to deepen your bond and foster a more intimate connection with positive cycles of communication, growth, and regeneration. I strive to help you develop a fuller understanding of yourselves and each other so that you can offer and receive support, manage conflict effectively, and recover from difficult life events in a way that strengthens the relationship. Given my own background, I have a particular interest and expertise in working with immigrant couples who are negotiating acculturation issues. I also have experience working with interracial or intercultural couples, who feel challenged by differences in background, culture, or sexual orientation.

I am an experienced clinical psychologist and also teach and supervise psychologists and provide mental health trainings. If you would like more information, please visit my website at dranitamclean.com or email me at amclean845@gmail.com
