Barbara Hollman, MSW, LCSW

I have always had an interest in understanding and helping others, and have been in private practice as a licensed clinical social worker since 1986. I received a degree in Clinical Social Work from Adelphi University, and a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work from the American Board of Examiners. I received a Certificate of Psychoanalysis from Manhattan Institute of Psychoanaysis in 1995, after completing a 5 year advanced course of study. I also have advanced training in overeating, parenting training, and 2 externships in “Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy.”

My approach is flexible and guided by individuals needs. It is contemporary, and interactive. By using a direct, yet gentle style, I am able to combine warmth, and compassion with expertise. I help people gain inner strength, and identify workable solutions to what once seemed insurmountable difficulties. I create a safe, therapeutic environment where people are able to share their thoughts and feelings, and help them to understand, and feel comfortable with them. Due to my professional and personal integrity, I will maintain utmost confidentiality in helping you achieve your goals.
